the byxnet / yossman.net IRC network chat system is 20 years old this year (2018), marking two decades of contiguous internet relay chat IRC services provided by yossman.net. happy birthday byxnet! :-)

yossman.net internet services have now been online for nearly 16 years without interruption!
the byxnet IRC network collective turns 14 years old this year. at this time, all byxnet IRC services and responsibilities are run and maintained by staff at the yossman.net internet network.

Obviously I missed an important date last month, February 5, 2005 would have marked the 4th year anniversary of the merger of Cognet and byxnet. Also, since I don't have an exact date, we will celebrate the 7th birthday of byxnet on May 1, 2005. Please make plans to come celebrate with us at that time and the whole month of May in #byxnet.

We've recently been having reports of people being unable to connect to Byxnet due to firewall strangeness. If you can't connect the standard port (6667), try connecting to one of the following servers on port 7000:
- waterloo.yossman.net
- irc.drwilco.net
- irc.catch22.org
- irc.neuagency.com

Christopher J. "NoSkill" Crosby, 23, of Indianapolis, IN died today. He was a systems engineer two years for Pan Testing Corp. A member of the United States Parachute Association, he was a Class A master sky diver. Mr. Crosby was a graduate of Ivy Tech State College.
